WEDDING
Hull — Uphill
The Forbes Methodist Church, which was beautifully decorated with lilies, roses and may blossom, was a picturesque setting for the wedding on Saturday afternoon of Miss Iris Esther Uphilland Mr. Francis John Hull.
The bride, who is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Uphill, of "Kilbonnie," Forbes,was escorted to the altar by her father, who subsequently gave her away. Her charming frock of ivory georgette was adorned with silver lace, and worn with a lei of orange blossom. The same flowers formed the coronet which held her beautiful veil of embroidered tulle in position. On her arm rested a fragrant bouquet of pink sweet peas, roses and stock tied with satin streamers.
BRIDESMAID IN PINK
Pink satin and georgette was worn by the bridesmaid, Miss Evie Hull, sister of the bridegroom. Her flowers were pink sweet peas and mauve lilac.
Mr. Sam Hull assisted the bridegroom, who is the third son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Hull, of "Numulla," Trundle.
Miss M. Wyndham presided at the organ and rendered appropriate music during the service.
After the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. E. T. Chapman, Mrs. Uphillentertained immediate relatives and intimate friends at wedding tea. She was smartly frocked in navy blue and a black hat. The wedding cake was iced and decorated by Miss Anne Jelbert, a friend of the bride.

Death of Father6 November 1939 "Kilbonnie", Forbes, NSW, Australia;
SUPPOSED SUICIDE
Mr. H. J. Uphill's Sad End
Found Hanging in Tree
His many friends throughout the Forbes district were shocked yesterday morning when the news was circulated that Mr. Herbert John Uphill, a well-known district farmer, had been found dead at his home, "Kilbonnie," 11 miles from Forbes, on the Bogan Gate Road.
The deceased was living at "Kilbonnie," with his son Kenneth, who informed the police that his father went to bed at the usual hour on Sunday night. Yesterday morning he was missing when the son rose about six o'clock, and a search revealed him hanging by a piece of rope from a gum tree about half a mile from the house. He was then quite dead.
IN DEPRESSED STATE
The deceased was 62 years of age, but no reason is assigned for his rash act other than he had been in a generally depressed state, since the death of his wife in March of last year. He was a man who was held in the very highest respect and had for many years been an active member of Forbes Farmers and Settlers' Association.
The funeral this morning was to the Methodist portion of the local cemetery, Mr. A. G. Jones having charge of the mortuary arrangements.
An inquiry into the circumstances of the death will be held next Saturday morning.;Principal=Herbert John Uphill5
