INQUESTS BEFORE C.MASTIN, GENT, CORONER
On the10th inst. at Friskney, on the body of William Whiley, aged 48 years, beer-shop-keeper, who put a period to his existence by hanging himself to the handrail of the stair-case. It appeared that the deceased was a man of very intemperate habits, and for the fortnight preceding his death, had never been out of bed , except to go down to fetch more drink,when it was denied him by his family; the last time he went down stairs but a short time before the body was found, suspended as above described, close to the staircase door which led into the room where the family were sitting. Verdict ''temporary insanity produced by excessive drinking''10
