NEWELL-THOMAS.
On Wednesday, the 7th ult., the marriage of Harriet Ann,. the second daughter of Cr. W. H. and Mrs. Thomas, of "Cora Lynn," Blackheath, and Herbert Bruce, the sixth son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Newell, "Mt. Pleasant," Minyip, was quietly celebrated at the residence of the bride's parents.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. Sussex, the circuit minister.
The bride was simply gowned in white silk, trimmed with silk insertion, and sash, finished with bead tassels, and wore, a tulle veil and wreath of orange blossom; also a gold watch and chain, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Florrie Thomas, the bride's sister, acted as bridesmaid. She was gowned in a simple frock of white silk, and wore the bridegroom's gift, a gold bamboo bangle. The bride's gift to bridegroom was a black and gold watch guard. Mr. Arthur Newell, brother of bridegroom, was best man. The happy couple left by express for Melbourne, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride travelled in a navy blue costume, relieved with tartan;Bride=Harriet Ann Thomas2 
Death of Father24 April 1930 Minyip, VIC, Australia;
The death occurred on Thursday last week of Mr. Thomas Newell of Main street, Minyip. He was 82 years and 9 months, and came to the Wimmera 57 years ago, from South Australia. He was amongst the first settlers at Dunmunkle. The members of the family, who are all settled around that district and in the Mallee, are:—William J. T. (Hopetoun), Florence C. (Mrs C. Parsons, Mellis), George A., (Warracknabeal), Rose V. (Mrs. J. Jackson, Minyip), Walter D. (Turiff), Albert (Boolite), Ellen E. (Mrs. C. O. Baker, Sheep Hills), Alfred D. (Warracknabeal), Herbert E. (Blackheath), and Arthur C. (Culgoa), There are 47 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. The deceased gentleman is survived by one brother (Mr. Robt. J. Newell, Minyip), and two sisters (Mrs. Jas. Milgate, Minyip and Mrs. D. Thompson, Gawler).;Principal=Thomas Newell3

NEWELL.—The death occurred at Minyip on Monday of Mrs. Ellen E. Newell at the age of 89 years and 10 months. Deceased, who was the mother of Messrs George and Alfred Newell, of Warracknabeal, had lived in retirement in Minyip for many years. The fiuneral took place at Minyip on Tuesday.
