CARN—NEWELL.
A very pretty wedding was celebrated on September 7, at the residence of the bride's parents, the contracting parties being Mr. Thomas Carn, of Osborne, and Miss Bessie Newell, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Newell, of Yerong Creek. The Rev. L. Peacock was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, was fascinatingly attired in cream figured silk lustre, with the usual wreath and veil, she also wore a gold watch and chain, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a bouquet, the gift of her aunt, Mrs. R. Piltz. The bridesmaids, sisters of the bride, were attired in white, with pale blue sashes, and each wore a gold brooch, the gifts of the bridegroom. The best men were Mr. G. Carn, brother of bridegroom, and Mr. D. Kelly, of Osborne. After the marriage ceremony the bridal party and guests sat down to a sumptuous repast. After full justice had been done to the good things provided, the Rev. Mr. Peacock proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, which was responded to by the bridegroom and Mr. Nelson. The happy couple left for their new home on Thursday morning. The presents were both numerous and valuable, including many cheques.
