Mr. William Newell died at Yerong Creek, N.S.W., on the 12th June. The deceased was one of those sturdy and plucky pioneers who took a hand in blazing the track for the agriculturists of the present day, and in the early days carried on farming at Dunmunkle. He left the Wimmera about 30 years ago, and ever since has resided in New South Wales. The deceased, who was just on 81 years of age and very highly esteemed, was the eldest brother of Messrs. T. and R. J. Newell, of Minyip ; Mrs. Milgate, sen., Dunmunkle, and Mrs. Thomson, Gawler, S.A. A widow and grown-up family of two sons and two daughters survive.

OBITUARY
MRS. E. A. NEWELL
The death of Mrs. E. A. Newell (reported briefly in our last issue) occurred at her home at Yerong Creek on Wednesday, April 3, after an illness of a few months, at the age of 88 years. Until four months before her death Mrs. Newell enjoyed the best of health despite her ripe old age, and was held in very high esteem amongst a large circle of friends.
Born in 1852 in South Australia, she later went to live in Minyip (Vic), where she married the late Mr. E. A. Newell. They came to this district in 1897, and had resided here ever since then, Mr. Newell having predeceased her about 18 years ago. Deceased leaves a family of four. Two sons are Messrs. Robert W. Newell and Joseph T. Newell, while her two daughters are Mrs. Carn and Mrs. D. Kelly, of The Rock.
The funeral, which took place on Thursday, April 4, was very largely attended, and many floral tributes showed the esteem in which the deceased lady was held.
A very impressive service was conducted at the Presbyterian Church, Yerong Creek, by Rev. Stuart MacIntyre, and was concluded at the graveside in the Yerong Creek cemetery. The coffin carriers were
Messrs. A. Newell, G. Piltz, D. Kelly, W. Newell (all grandsons), Mr. A. Eulenstein (nephew), and Mr. J. Lowrie. The wreaths were borne
to the graveside by Messrs. J. T. Newell, Geo. Geddes, O. Eulenstein, W.
Geddes and D. Kelly senr.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. E. Cochrane, Henty.
