OBITUARY.
We very much regret having to chronicle the sad news of the death of Mrs. Arthur Evans, at the age of 44 years, after a short though painful ilness, which occurred at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday. The deceased lady was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Whiley, and was a native of Prospect, near Sydney, but resided most of her life in this district, where she was well known and highly respected. She was a sister of Mr. Joshua Whiley, of Millthorpe, and Mrs John Kelly, of Tarra Hill. She leaves a husband, three daughters, five brothers, one sister, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy in their sad bereavement. The remains were interred in the Methodist portion of the Millthorpe cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev. A. W. Burns, assisted by the Rev. R. H. Kelly, conducted the burial service. The mortuary arrangements were carried out by J. Reed and Son, of Blayney. The funeral was largely attended. The Druids and Oddfellows marched in regalia. Three Druids and three Oddfellows were pall bearers. The corpse was carried from deceased's late home to the cemetery. Many letters of sympathy and floral tributes were received, and much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved husband and family, to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.6
