DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT.—One by one the old hands of the district, are dropping off. We have to record this week the death of a very old and respected resident of this district. On Wednesday morning last, Mr. Joseph Stanton, who for many years resided on the Castlereagh Road, near Penrith, joined the great majority. Mr. Stanton who has been a resident in the Colony for upwards of 57 years, was one of those unassumming gentleman, and during his life he made any number of friends. A short time ago it was found that his health was failing, and he removed with his wife to the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. W. Lennox. Since that time he has been laid up, and gradually lingered on till he died on Wednesday morning, at the age of 82 years.;Principal=Joseph Stanton4

John Stanton.
Mr John Stanton, son of the late Mr Joseph Stanton, of Lambridge, died at his residence, The Boulevard, Rookwood, on Sunday last, in his 75th year. Although deceased left the district many years ago, he was well-known to the old hands. There are residing in this district at the present time : Mrs W Lennox (sister), and Messrs William, Joseph, and Josiah (brothers).7
