WEDDING.
THOMPSON—RAWSTHORNE.
Bride in White.
On August 4, at St. Andrew's Church Eugowra, Rev. H. Hawkins officiated at the marriage of Miss Lillian Myrtle, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Rawsthorne, of Bandon, Forbes, to Mr. Ernest Herbert, third son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Thompson, "Hillside," Goolagong.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father, and made a charming picture in her lovely long frock of white crepe-de-chine and georgette featuring the shaped bodice and tiered flared skirt, falling in handkerchief points. Her veil of cut tulle was held in position by a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of Souy de Leonie Viennot roses and asparagus fern.
Three bridesmaids, Misses Marie and Mary Jones and Stella Rawsthorne (neices of the bride), were in attendance. They were similarly attired in ankle length frocks of pink, blue and lemon, made with a transparent hem. Their picture hats and shoes matched and their bouquets consisted of stock and asparagus fern.
Little Una Pluis was flower girl, in a dainty dress of lemon and bonnet to tone. Lorna Langford, the cushion-bearer, wore pink. The cushion, which was beautifully painted, was the work of Miss May Jones, a niece of the bride.
The best man was Mr. Thomas Thompson, the bridegroom's brother.
GUARD OF HONOR
As the bridal party left the church after the ceremony, members of the Vychan Tennis Club, with which the bride has been associated for years, formed a guard of honor.
At the reception, Mrs. Rawsthorne, becomingly dressed, in black repp relieved with blue, and a hat to tone, received about 120 guests.
Later, the newly-weds left on the honeymoon tour, en route to Sydney. For travelling, the bride's choice was brown crepe-de-chine, touched, with lemon, and a hat en suite.
The bridegroom's present to the bride was a beautiful handbag to match her travelling frock; to each of the bridesmaids, a diamond ring; to the flower girl and cushion-bearer, a toilet set. The bride's gift, to her husband was a travelling rug.
