Probate | 9 February 1856 | NSW, Australia; 3454 In the name of God Amen I James Morris of Mount Clarence District of Hartley in the Colony of New South Wales being of sound memory mind and understanding do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and testament in manner following that is to say First I give and devise to my wife Sarah Morris for her sole use and benefit during the term of her natural life all my land and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in the vicinity of Mount Clarence aforesaid and consisting of one Grant of one hundred and ninety three acres under deed bearing date twenty second of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven and a lot of two hundred and fifty acres purchased at Government sale on twelfth February one thousand eight hundred and forty and from and after her decease I give devise and bequeath absolutely and for ever the aforesaid Grant and lot of land (with the exception of ten acres hereinafter to be disposed of out of the two hundred and fifty acre lot) to my sons William Morris John Morris Grant Morris George Morris and Edward Morris to be equally divided amongst them share and share alike the division to be made by me executors and their decision as to the apportionment to each of the said parties to be final Second In reference to the ten acres above spoken of I hereby direct the same to be measured off the two hundred and fifty acre lot commencing at the Eastern boundary thereof and giving a fair proportion of river frontage and I give and devise the said ten acres absolutely and for ever to my grandson John Watkins Third I give and devise absolutely and for ever to my son Thomas Morris the land known as the “Reedy Gully” farm containing three hundred and twenty acres and under deed of Conveyance to me bearing date twenty ninth day of June one thousand eight hundred thirty nine Fourth I give and bequeath all my stock consisting of horses and horned cattle to be divided share and share alike amongst my wife and daughters Sarah Morris Elizabeth Blackman Phoebe Purcell Sophia Peacock Anne Peacock Clara Morris and Jane Watkins the division to be made by my Executors and their decision to be final fifth I give and bequeath to my wife Sarah Morris all my farming implements and goods and chattels used for domestic purposes Sixth I nominate and appoint John Blackman and my son William Morris Executors of this my last Will and testament and I hereby give and devise all my right title and interest in and to my station Burradoran on the Big River to William Morris for his sole use and benefit Signed sealed published and declared by me this sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine James Morris (his mark) Signed sealed published and declared in the presence of us this sixteenth day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine Heyward Atkins David Scott Samuel Northey 9 February 1856 This day upon Petition Probate of the last Will and Testament of James Morris deceased was granted to John Blackman and William Morris two of the Executors in the said Will named Testator died 19th May 1854 Goods sworn at £3000: Probate date the same day as granted5 |
