OBITUARY
MRS. M. A. BASSETT
In Lewisham Private Hospital yesterday evening, one of the oldest and best known residents of Wagga, Mrs. Mary Ann Bassett, of "Halston", 116 Best Street, died at the age of 85 years. She was the widow of the late Mr. Henry Bassett, of Wagga, and she had resided in Wagga for the past 40 years. Before coming to Wagga, she had lived in Sydney. In her younger days, Mrs. Bassett took an active part in many affairs, but of late years had lived a quiet and homely life. She is survived by four sons, Messrs. Avelyn Henry Bassett (Mosman), Harvey Harold (Narrandera) and Reginald Roy and Alonzo Leo Bassett (both of Wagga). One son, Archie E. Bassett, predeceased her. Also surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. E. Claremont (Bondi) and Mrs. A. Buckley (Rockdale). She has four grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. The funeral will take place in Wagga today, leaving St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church after a service at 2 o'clock.6
