OBITUARY
Mr. T. H. Lees
Mr Thomas Herbert Lees, a very old identity of Springwood, passed away in hospital at Strathfield on Saturday. Deceased was one of nine sons of the late Mr and Mrs Cornelius Lees, of North Sprlngwood. and was a great grandson of the late John Lees, who built the first Methodist Church in Australia. Several years ago deceased left Springwood for Concord, where his wife predecased him, about three years ago. In the later years of deceased's residence in Springwood he plied for, hire with a buggy. He leaves one brother, Ebenezer, of Raymond Road, Springwood who is the only surviving son of the late Mr and Mrs, C. Lees. Mrs J. Payne, of Penrith, and Mrs Tom Ellison, of Emu Plains, are sisters of deceased. One daughter, Ina (Mrs Lovitt. Concord West), and one son, Cecil (Samarai), survive.
Deceased was a member of, Loyal Concord Lodge, M.U.I.O.O.F. No 427
The remains were interred in the C. of E. cemetery, Rookwood, on Monday.4
