She was born at Little Hartley, on 19th August, 1854. At the age of 15 weeks she travelled from that place to Castlereagh, by road, where she resided with her parents until the big floods in 1861, which ruined her people, leaving them pennyless. They went to Springwood, where they resided for 37 years, and then went to live at Emu Plains, for 20 years. Last November they took up residence with their son, Leslie, at Blaxland, where her husband passed away on 3rd June, at the age of 87 years and 11 months. Then deceased went to live at Auburn, with her daughter, Mrs Elliott, and there she passed away. She is survived by the following sons and daughters:—Mrs J. Couldwell (Bondi), Albert (Emu), Thomas (Glenbrook), Mrs S. Couldwell (Randwick), Mrs C. Parkes (Emu Plains), Leslie (Blaxland), Mrs J. Elliott (Auburn), and Cecil (Marrickville).
