Death of an Old Colonist.
A very old colonist in the person of Mr Charles Javens, passed away yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs H. Kable, in Hill-Street. The cause of death is senile decay. The old gentleman who was in his 99th year, had enjoyed apparently good health up to about a fortnight ago, when a general break-up of the system set in. Deceased was very well known in the district of Bathurst, where he lived for many years. He leaves a large family, all of whom are grown up and married. He was one of the early pioneers of the colony, being almost a native. His remains will be interred in the Church of England cemetery this afternoon. The funeral will leave his daughter's residence at 3 o'clock. The Rev. J. L. Taylor will officiate. The funeral arrangements will be conducted by Mrs Hale.3
