WASHINGTON—BASSETT.
A wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Wodonga, on Wednesday, at noon, between Ada Maud, second daughter of Mr J. Bassett, and Oscar Godfrey, eldest son of Mr H. J. Washington, Rev. W. Seamer officiating. On the arrival of the bridal party at the church, which had been tastefully decorated by girl friends of the bride, the choir sang The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden, Miss V. Parnaby presiding at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in a dress of white Japanese silk, trimmed with overall lace, Valenciennes lace, and insertion, and also wore a very pretty white felt hat and carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Muriel and Doris Washington (sisters of bridegroom), in dresses of nun's veiling skirts, with silk blouses, wearing hand-some brooches, the gift of the bride groom. The best man was Mr J. Bassett, jun. At the conclusion of the ceremony
the bride was presented with a Bible, in recognition of her services as organist for a number of years. The Wedding March was played by Mrs Bassett, sen., on the party leaving the church. The friends of the couple were invited to breakfast at the residence of Mr Stan. Guy (brother-in-law of the bride), where the customary toasts were honored. The happy couple left by the afternoon train for Ballarat; the bride travelling in a brown Sicilian costume, bolero being worked with pale blue Forget-me-nots over prettily made silk blouse.
