"'Flu" is abating in the town. Nocases have been reported this week, though we have had the first death inthe Emergency Hospital since lastreport. During the week several patients have been discharged, and at present there are only eight cases inhospital.
On Saturday Harry Harmer, a lad18 years of age, passed away after avery severe attack of pneumonia influenza. The deceased lad was thesecond son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Harmer, a family of many years standingin Trundle and highly respected throughout the district. He was a splendid specimen of a true Australian, loved by his family and respected byeverybody. He was particularly known throughout the district for hissplendid horsemanship, it often being said the horse was never bred thatcould throw him in a fair buck-jumping contest, and he was a true loverof a horse, always kind and gentle with the animals. The unfortunatelad bore his suffering, throughout theillness with patience and fortitudeand to the last, was hopeful of recovery. The funeral left the hospitalon Saturday afternoon, and was verylargely attended, for the AnglicanChurch, and after service at the church the cortege left for the cemetery, where the Rev. A. Mills performed the last sad rites, over the remains of a good Australian boy who was loved and respected by all. 2
