Death of Mr. Edward Creasey.
After a lingering illness Mr. Edward Creasey, a gentleman well-known in Bathurst, died at his residence, Durham-street, on Saturday. Since November Mr. Creasey had been laid aside through a general breaking up of his constitution, and the last weeks of illness were of a painful character. The deceased gentleman was born at Freshney, Lincolnshire, England, in 1849, his father being a retired gentleman of that county. He was educated in his native place. About 30 years ago he came to Australia, having been commissioned by his father to bring out to New South Wales, some stud horses for sale. He settled in Bathurst 18 years ago, when he took the Black Horse Hotel, in which he stayed four years. After that he took the Haymarket Hotel and remained there until last June — 14 years—when he gave up through failing health. It was on November 9 that he was stricken with the illess that has carried him off. The funeral yesterday afternoon was largely attended. The Rev. Mr. Livingstone officiated at the grave.6
