BISHOP—CLIFTON.
On Tuesday last the Presbyterian Church, Corowa, was the scene of a very pretty wedding which attracted considerable local interest by reason of the contracting parties being members of two well and favourably known district families. They were Herbert J., eldest son of Mr. George H. Bishop, of "Glencoe." North Burryjaa, and Elsle, eldest daughter of Mr. Arthur Clifton, also of Burryjaa, the officiating clergyman being the Rev. M'Laren Scott. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, and looked charming In a gown of cream silk, trimmed with pearl. She wa attended by Misses Effie and Ivy Bishop, sisters of the bridegroom, as bridesmaids, who were dressed in white silk, trimmed with lace, and wore picture hats of black velvet relieved with pink and blue silk. Mr. H. Bishop officiated a« best man. The bride carried a most handsome bouquet and wreath of hot house flowers, presented by Mrs. A. E. Hewson. After the ceremony at the church the party adjourned to Mrs. Hewson's Australian Hotel, where the large dining ball was used to entertain the numerous guests at a sumptuous wedding breakfast, about 40 sitting down. With a rich profusion of wattle and other floral decoration artistically arranged, the room presented a charming appearance. The menu provided was all that could be desired, in fact, no one could wish for anything more superior, and Mrs. Hewson and her assistants on the occasion are deserving of the highest praise for the manner in which this part of the wedding celebration was carried out. The Rev. Mr. Scott presided at the breakfast, and in fitting terms proposed the health of the newly married couple, and after suitable responses had been made Mr. and Mr. Bishop motored to Wahgunyah accompanied by the wedding Party, en route for Melbourne, where the honeymoon will be spent. The happy couple on their return will reside at Breadalbane, North Quat Quatta. The bride's travelling dress was a tailor-made costume of navy cloth, with hat to match. The bride was the recipient of many costly and useful presents as well a the good wishes of all her friends for a happy future. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a set of handsome furs, while the bride's to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links, The bridesmaids were also made the recipients of gold dress rings by the bridegroom.
