Obituary | 12 January 1929 | "The Nepean Times", Penrith, NSW, Australia; ABRAHAM JOHN BUCKLEY The death occurred at Granville on Sunday last of Mr Abraham John Buckley at the age of 75 years. Deceased was a native of Parramatta, and came to Penrith to reside about 43 years ago, conducting a sawmill there many years. Some 10 years ago he removed to Granville. He had been ailing for many years, and underwent some 13 operations. In his younger days he was a carrier with his father between Wallerawang and Mudgee. His wife (who was a Miss Sarah Dinsdale, of Mudgee) survives him, as also the following children:—Mrs H. Brinkley (Penrith), Mr William Buckley (Douglas Park), Mr Richard Buckley (Granville), Mr Jim Buckley (Penrith), Mrs T. Field (Penrith), Mr Frederick Buckley (Picton), Mr Robert Buckley (Penrith), Mr George Buckley (Glenfield), Mrs J. Oprey (Picton), Mrs J. Cagland (Mittagong), Mrs J. Sutcliffe (Sydney), and Mrs George Hearne (Granville). There are also 47 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Mrs George lzzard (York Estate) and Mr William Henry Buckley (New Zealand) are surviving sister and brother. The funeral took place on Monday, the internment being in the Salvation Army portion of Rookwood Cemetery.4 |
