SMITH—BRIGHT
A very pretty wedding was solemnised by Rev. W. C. Arnold at All Saints Church on Wednesday, 27th June, when Sebriel, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bright, of Condobolin, was married to Ronald, second son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Smith, of Wellington.
The bride chose a beautiful frock of ivory wind-swept velvet, made on flowing lines, with train cut into the skirt and featuring cowl neckline and sleeves, with which she wore the customary veil and a halo of orange blossom.
Her bouquet was of white hyacinths, camelias and stocks.
Miss Mab Bright, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and wore a frock which was an exact copy of the bride's.
Her toque of ivory wind-swept velvet was completed by a stiffened tulle eye-veil. She carried pink carnations and camelias.
Little June Oppy looked very sweet in the role of flower girl. Her frock was also a copy of the bride's, and a trail of forget-me-nots in her hair, and a basket of the same flowers made very pretty additions to her costume.
The bridal, bridesmaid's and flower girl's frocks were made by the bride's cousin, Mrs. McVeigh.
Mr. V. Savage, from Wellington, acted in the capacity of best man.
After the ceremony a reception and dance was held at the Masonic Hall, where Mrs. Bright, attired in a black flat-crepe frock and carrying a posy of red roses and poinsettias, assisted by Mrs. Smith, who wore beige mariette and had a posy of autumn tinted flowers and gold berries, received about seventy guests.
The hall was beautifully set out in lounge fashion, with the invitation of comfort to all, and not the least to that comfort being a bright wood fire that gave a glow of warmth to the whole room. On a table at one end was the wonderful display of beautiful, and costly presents, about 60 in all. They were admired by all.
The usual toasts were honoured, the Rev. W. C. Arnold presiding. Very many telegrams of congratulation were received and read. The wedding cake was a beautiful three-decker. Dancing and the partaking of refreshments filled in the enjoyable time.
The bride left for the honeymoon (which is to be spent touring the mountains) in a smart black pin head costume worn with a white satin blouse, with hat and shoes to match.
