Obituary21 November 1891 "The National Advocate", Bathurst, NSW, Australia;
ORANGE PEELINGS.
Friday night.
Mr. George Whiley, an old resident of Orange district, died about 8 o'clock last evening. Mr. Whiley was a native of Lincolnshire, England, and arrived in Australia half-a-century ago. On settling in this district, he located at Spring Hill and became occupied in agriculture, and in appearance was a fair type of the sturdy English farmer. Having acquired a considerable amount of town property, he resided, of late years, in Orange, enjoying the ease earned by a frugal, industrious life. For some time he suffered from an internal complaint, and last week Dr. Machattie, of Bathurst, assisted by Drs. Codrington and Van Somerax, performed an operation, which, however, did not check the fatal progress of the disease. Deceased was an excellent judge of stock, and possessed high qualifications in the veterinary art. The funeral took place this afternoon, the Rev. C. C. Dunstan conducting the funeral service of the Church of England. He leaves a family of three sons and four daughters to inherit his property.10
