OBITUARY
ALBERT THOMAS WALLER
Not a man in public life but one of the very honest working type with a word equal to the best man's bond, may briefly describe the subject of this notice, who passed away at his home in Condobolin on Friday, 27th, February. Born in Condobolin 64 years ago, he spent his whole life here— a life given to constant hard work and faithful fulfilment of all things entrusted to him. As a carrier, by which he found work and means of living for many years past, he did work for many of the best people in the district, always holding preference in their minds. His father, Samuel Waller, came to Condobolin when a young man, coming with his father, John Waller, who had been a Sergeant of Police in the early days. Married at Condobolin, on 31st March, 1899, to Lilian Cunningham. Children are Cecil (Forbes), Jack (Condobolin), Charles (Sydney), Mrs. Clarke (Forbes), Mrs. Bassett (Fairholme), Mrs. Betts (Molong), Mrs. Nash (Fairholme). One son, Athol, died only just a week before his father, and this sad event must have had a telling effect on the very sick father who had been ailing for a good while and in rather a serious condition for several weeks. Sisters of deceased are Mrs. Corrigan (Rockdale), Mrs. Mower (Dubbo), Mrs West (Sydney). The burial took place on Saturday afternoon, the remains being laid to rest in the Church of England portion of Condobolin cemetery, the cortege moving from All Saints' Church at 4 p.m. Rev. J. S. Richards officiated at the services and Mr. Robert Marlin had change of the funeral arrangements. Quite a large number assembled at the graveside, among whom were many that deceased had worked for, particularly as carrier. Thus the country people contributed largely to the attendance. To the bereaved ones we offer our sincere sympathy.;Principal=Albert Thomas Waller4
Death*29 May 1945 Orange, NSW, Australia;
OBITUARY.
Mrs. Iris Mary Betts.
The death occurred at a private hospital, Orange, on Tuesday of Mrs. Iris Mary Betts, wife of Mr. Jack Betts, of “Mullengeen,” Wellington Road, Molong, at the age of 39.
Before her marriage a few years ago the late Mrs. Betts was Iris Waller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Waller, of Condobolin, where she was born.
She entered hospital to undergo two operations, one being performed by a Sydney specialist. Unfortunately, after a period of suffering Mrs. Betts' condition deteriorated, and death ensued.
The late Mrs. Betts possessed a charming nature, and a wide circle of friends, in addition to her husband, will mourn her untimely passing. There is one child, Nancy Clair (17 months).
The funeral took place at Molong on Wednesday, moving from the Church of England.5
