WEDDING BELLS.
OnWednesday morning a very pretty ceremony was celebrated at St Augustine'sChurch of England, when Miss May Pikeand Mr A. P. Townsend,were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. A. S. Rowe.
The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr Bob Medcalf, her sister, Miss Doris Pike,was bridesmaid, and Mr Jack Medcalf carried out the duties of groomsman. The bride was attired in a very pretty dress of white crepe-de-chene with fringed overdress of white georgette, white net veil, and carried a pretty wreath of white blooms.
The bridesmaid wore a becoming dress of white crepe de chene and georgette with pretty hat of black georgette, and also carried a bouquet of white blooms.
Whilst the register was being signed, Mrs T. C. Medlyn sang "Belover it is Morn," and Mrs J. Medlyn who officiated at the organ, played the Wedding March. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was partaken of at the residence of the bride's mother, Mrs Pike.The presents (a list of which could not be secured in time for this issue), were numerous and included a number of cheques. The happy young couple left by train in the afternoon for Sydney en route for Melbourne, where the honeymoon is to be spent.
