Probate | 10 November 1852 | NSW, Australia; No. 2527 A Will-In tn the name of God Amen the first day of October One thousand eight hundred and forty nine I John Strickland of the Lachland Grazier being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of the body. Knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make and ordain this my lat Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of the Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of of my executors nothing doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God And as touching such wordly estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give dervise [sic] and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. My cattle and horses to be equally divided between my dear beloved wife Elizabeth Strickland and her three children viz Mary Anne Strickland Joseph Strickland and Sarah Strickland the male increase to go to the support of the aforesaid Elizabeth Strickland and her three children as aforesaid the aforesaid stock to be divided as the children comes of age the females not to be molested until the aforesaid children comes of age I leave Josiah Strickland and Joseph Millerto manage for the aforesaid children until they come of age whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my sole executors of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies bequests and executors by me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written John Strickland Witnesses Mary Anne Strickland William Scott Edward Owens 10 November 1852 This day upon Petition Probate of the last Will and Testament of John Strickland deceased was granted to Josiah Strickland and Joseph Miller the executors in the said Will named Testator died 3rd of October 1849 Goods sworn under £500. Probate dated the same day6 |
