The Late Mrs. Alice Thompson
Mrs. Alice Thompson, of 656 High Street, Penrith, who died in hospital on October 31, at the age of 85 years, was born at Kanimbla Valley, and lived at Hartley Vale till she came to Penrith 50 years ago.
She was the wife of Charles John Thompson, to whom she was married when she was 16 years of age. Her maiden name was Alice Skeen.
She leaves seven children (eight are deceased), 26 grand children, 24 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Daughters and sons of Mrs. Thompson are: May (Mrs. Clarke, Penrith), Violet (Mrs. Claeson, Penrith), Arthur (Petersham), Victor (Chullora), Cecil (Lakemba), Sydney (Cardiff), and Herbert (Penrith).
Mrs. Sutton, of Woodriff St., Penrith, is a sister of deceased.
The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, 2nd inst., leaving the Funeral Home of John Price and Son, Penrith, for the C. of E. portion of Penrith general cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rector, the Rev. A. E. Hodgson.4
