Death* | 24 August 1940 | Manly Hospital, Manly, NSW, Australia; OBITUARY. Mr. Oscar Robinson. The death occurred at Manly Hospital on Saturday morning of Mr. Oscar Robinson, brother of Mr. W. A. Robinson. Deceased had been in indifferent health for some time, having had a stroke a few months ago. The late Mr. Robinson came to Grenfell about 35 years ago, and joined the staff of Messrs. Purdie and Co. Later he returned to Condobolin and joined the business of Mr. Maitland, and again returned to Grenfell some years later, and took up residence at "Myee." His first wife was Miss Ida Filby, and he is survived by his second wife and one son. A brother (Mr. W. A. Robinson) and two sisters (Mrs. Maitland and Mrs. Bollingcr) also survive him. A brother (Mr. Ernie Robinson) and sister (Mrs. Purdie) predeceased him. The late Mr. Robinson was well known in country show rings some years ago, and owned many fine horses, and as a reinsman was probably unsurpassed.2 |
