WEDDING
RATH— BA8SETT
One of the prettiest weddings seen in Forbes for some time was that of Eileen May Bassett to Lindsay Rath, which took place at St. John's Church last Saturday. Rev, A. E. White Officiated.
The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bassett, of "Fairholme," Forbes, was escorted' to the altar by her father.
She chose an off-the-shoulder redingote style frock of heavy white satin and needlerun lace, featuring unpressed pleats at the back, which formed a long train. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a coronet of hyacinths. She carried a bouquet of frangipanni, carnations and tuberoses.
The bride's attendants, Miss Joan Bassett, sister of the bride, Miss Geraldlne Rath, sister of the groom, and Miss Marie Simmonds, wore identical off-the-shoulder frocks of Pink moire taffeta, which featured scalloped Bertha collars, buttoned at back with tiny buttons, and a padded hip-line trimmed with hand-made silver and pink lame flowers. They wore curvettes of pink and blue flowers, which held their pink embroidered tulle veils in place. Their bouquets were of pink carnations and blue delphiniums.
Little Colleen McGuire, who was flower girl, wore pink tulle over taffeta, and carried' a basket of pink and blue flowers together with a garland.
The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Neville Rath, as best man, and Messrs Wal Simmonds and John Murray acted as groomsmen.
During the signing of the register Miss Maureen Maitland sang "Because."
The reception was held at the C.W,A. Rooms, where about 150 guests were received by, the bride's mother wearing a black beaded crepe frock with pink accessories, She was assisted by the groom's mother, who chose a grey beaded Trock, with clover and grey accessories.
For travelling attire, the bride wore frock of wood violet moss crepe with black accessories.
Guests at the wedding came from Sydney, Orange, Molong, Eugowra and Condobolin.— Forbes 'Advocate";Groom=Lindsay Joseph Rath1,3
