MISS A. A. PURCELL
Miss Amelia Ann Purcell, a very respected resident of Castlereagh, died at the home of her nephew, Mr J. A. H. Purcell, Castlereagh Road, on 3rd inst, at the age of 74 years. Deceased was born in the house in which she died—a substantial old building that has stood since the earliest days of the district, a fine tribute to the good workmanship of those times. She was the third daughter of John Purcell, who was also born and died in that house. For the past five years Miss Purcell had been an invalid, and had lost her sight. She leaves three sisters and two brothers—Mrs Anderson (Paddington), Mrs McCarthy (Parramatta), Mrs Flannery (Sydney), Mr J. J. Purcell (Castlereagh), and Mr Austin Purcell (Sydney).
The funeral, which was well attended, took place on 4th inst., the interment being in McCarthy's cemetery, Cranebrook. The last rites of the Church were administered by Rev. Father Deely.3
