PELCHEN-WILLIAMS.
A pretty wedding of considerable interest to a large number of Geelong, Natimuk and Vectis people took place on November 15 in St. Silas's Church, North Geelong, between Margaret C. Williams, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, formerly of Wyn Wyn Park, Natimuk Lake, and Alfred R. Pelchen, youngest son of Mrs. J. W. Pelchen, of Horsham. The Rev. A. J. Pearce was the officiating clergyman. The church was artistically decorated with arum lilies, marguerites and white carnations. The bride was given away by her cousin, Mr. W. H. Williams, of Melbourne, and was attired in a hand some gown of ivory satin charmeuse, an overdress and sleeves of silver lace, worn with a court train of silver tissue, with a long trail of orange blossoms. The customary wreath and veil were worn in neat cap fashion, also white golves [sic] and shoes. The veil was fastened with silver and pearl ornamental clasps. On entering the church the choir sang. "The Voice that breathed o'er Eden" and a psalm. The bridal bouquet was composed of white roses, water lilies and fern, tied with satin streamers. The bridesmaid was Miss Gertie Foster, who wore a dainty frock of lemon Jersey silk, trimmed with silver stitchings, a black picture hat, with silk and lace, completing the costume. She carried a bouquet of pink roses, water lilies, sweet peas and fern, tied with mauve and pink streamers. The flower girl, Miss Kathleen Williams, only sister of the bride, was attired in a pale blue crepe de chine frilled frock, with a tulle bow in her hair. She also carried a basket of blue wisteria and old gold roses and ferns, with streamers of old gold satin. Owing to the illness of Miss Llewella Hoffmann, Miss Rita Marshall acted in her place as train bearer. She looked sweet in a frock of white crepe de chine, handsomely embroidered in pink and blue. The bride groom was attended by Mr. Edwin Lindner, of Horsham, as best man.
The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold cable bangle and cheque, and to the bridesmaid a Nellie Stewart bangle, while the little flower girl and train-bearer and intended train-bearer each received a double curb bangle. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a travelling rug.
As the bridal party left the church, Miss Usher, sister-in-law of Rev. A. J. Pearce, organist, finely rendered the " Wedding March." A reception was afterwards held at the Savoy Cafe, where the bride's mother received the guests in a gown of black Jersey silk, trimmed with gold stitchings. She also wore a fur stole and black and gold hat, and carried a bouquet of violets and pansies. On account of illness, the bridegroom's mother could not attend. About 40 guests were present, and the tables were daintily arranged with pale blue and white flowers and fern. Miss Thelma Williams (Melbourne) and Rev. Mr. Pearce sang "Until" and "'My Dear Soul." The usual toasts were honored. A large number of telegrams were read at the breakfast. The honeymoon was spent in Sydney and the Blue Mountains. The bride travelled in a grey charmeuse satin frock, with blue and silver hat and fur stole. Many beautiful and costly presents were received, including full sets of silver tea and coffee services and a number of cheques. Mr. and Mrs. Pelchen will make their future home at "Oakbank," Vectis.
