OBITUARY
MRS. CATHERINE CONROY
Death claimed an old and respected resident of the district on Saturday, in the person of Mrs. Conroy, widow of the late Mr. James Conroy, of Boorowa.
The deceased expired at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. Marton, at the age of 67.
The late Mrs. Conroy was a native of Boorowa being a member of the O'Hehir family, well-known residents of our district. The deceased had been a sufferer for many years, and she bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude; her end came as a happy release. She was an exceptionally good mother to her children; an affectionate wife and kind and loving neighbour. Sincere regret has been expressed by many friends at her passing.
The deceased is survived by two sons and two daughters, her husband having predeceased her by about nine years.
The daughters are, Mrs. W. Martin and Mrs. Tilden, of Boorowa; and the sons, Mr. James Conroy (Junee), and Mr. Michael Conroy (Boorowa).
There are four sisters and three brothers surviving, the sisters being, Mrs. Haydon (Goolagong), Mrs. O'Malley (Grenfell), Mrs. Flannery (Murrumburrah) and Mrs. Bennett (Yass). The brothers are Messrs. Michael and Jack, of Boorowa, and Joseph, of Murrumburrah.
The funeral took place on Sunday, the remains being interred in the Catholic of the Boorowa cemetery.
The funeral cortege was a very lengthy one, members of the A.H.C. Guild Society marching in front o! the motor hearse.
After the burial many beautiful wreaths and other floral tributes were placed on the grave.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. O. J. Stuart, and the burial service was conducted by Rev. Fr. Sheehan.7
