A very pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday November 6th, at the residence of the bride's parents, the contracting parties being Mr. David Kelly, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Kelly, of Boweya, Victoria, and Miss Selma Newell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Newell, of "Holly Ford,'' Yerong Creek. The Rev. C. E. Godbehear was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, was fascinatingly attired in a dress of ivory silk, trimmed with silk lace and insertion, with pleated chiffon and ruched ribbon and the customary wreath and veil. She also carried a bouquet, the gift of Mrs. P. Rawson. Miss C. Newell (bride's sister) and Miss Kelly (bridegroom's sister) attended as bridesmaids. Miss Newell wore cream voile, trimmed lace and pink ribbon; Miss Kelly was dressed in a shell pink voile, trimmed with cream lace; they also carried bouquets, the gifts of two lady friends. Mr. Herbert Kelly (brother of bridegroom) acted as best man, and Mr. Robert Newell as groomsman. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests sat down to a sumptuous breakfast where the usual toasts were honored. A very enjoyable evening was spent, and the happy couple were driven to Yerong Creek to catch the morning train for Victoria, where the honeymoon will be spent, amid showers of rice and good wishes. The bride's travelling dress was navy Eton coat and skirt, with navy velvet trimmings, cream silk front. The presents were numerous and valuable. ;Groom=David Kelly2 |
