After having been in ill-health for a considerable period, Mr. Patrick Haydon, one of the best known and most popular residents of the Goolagong district, died in Cowra district hospital on Friday night. He was 73.
The late Mr. Haydon was born at Young and was married at Burrowa to Miss O'Hehir. His wife is still living. Sixty-one years ago he settled in the Goolagong district and took up farming pursuits. Deceased is survived by five sons, Jack (Sydney), Jim, Stan, Ned, and Clarrie (Goolagong), and two daughters, Mrs. Pengilly and Mrs. J. Bartley (both of Goolagong). One daughter, Mrs. R. Beath, predeceased him.
He also leaves eight brothers and a sister, John, Bill, Mick, Jim, Robert, Tom, George and Dick, and Mrs. Mackenzie (all of Goolagong). Another brother, Harry, died some time ago.
The funeral left for Goolagng cemetery on Sunday afternon after a service in the Catholic Church. The service was conducted by Rev. Father Leonard, who also officiated at the graveside. Mr. D. J. Nicholson (Cowra) was the undertaker.
