THE LATE MRS. ROBERT BEATH.
We much regret to learn that the popular and much esteemed wife of Mr. Robert Beath, of Goolagong, fell a victim to the dread influenza on the 8th inst. It appears that the lamented lady became apparently convalescent, and while attending to her household duties suffered a relapse, and pneumonia having supervened, all that medical skill could dictate and careful and attentive nursing could accomplish failed to avert a fatal phase. The late Mrs. Beath, whose age was only 29, leaves a disconsolate husband and three children whose ages range from nine years to twelve months, to mourn the loss of an exemplary wife and mother. The deceased was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Haydon, very old and deservedly respected residents of Goolagong, and she was a native of that place. The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place to the Catholic cemetery on the afternoon of 8th inst., the Rev. Father Lynch officiating at the Church and graveside on the very sad occasion. Widespread sympathy goes out to the sorrowing husband, young family, and sorely afflicted parents in their bitter trial.2 |
