The Late Fatal Accident.—On Saturday at an iuquest was held before Mr. J. Barnes, coroner, and a jury of eight, at Caloola Creek, touching the death of Joseph Fell, who was accidentally killed there on the 20th inst. After taking the evidence of Sergt. Cromie, Robert S. Garbutt, William Neil, John Hillyard, and W. Tunstate, the jury returned the following verjdict: “The jury are unanimous that the deceased met his death accidentally, and that no blame attaches to anyone.” The deceased was a native of the district, 51 years of age, has been twice married, and was in poor circumstances; subscription list was started for the widow and children, and £9 was collected on the 21st instant.

The death occurred in Bathurst hospital on Saturday of Mrs. Mary Katherine Ryan, of "Back Creek," Rockley, at the age of 61. Mr. Norman Ryan, of Kandos, is a son. Mrs. A. Neil, of Charbon Quarries, is a sister of the deceased.2

The death occurred in the Bathurst District Hospital on Saturday afternoon of Mrs. Mary Catherine Ryan, of Back Creek, Rockley, after an illness of about ten weeks, eight of which had been spent in hospital. Deceased was born at Garabaldi, near Trunkey, 61 years ago and had been a resident of the Rockley district for over 50 years, being well known and highly respected. Her husband predeceased her by 12 months. She is survived by three sons Percy (Rockley), Norman (Kandos), and Thomas (Rockley), a daughter, Rosannah (Mrs. Hanley, Bathurst), a brother, Mr. Fell (Perthville), a sister, Mrs. A. Neil (Charbon Quarries), a step brother, Mr. E. Fell (Mudgee), and a step sister, Miss M. Fell (Mudgee). The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, moving to the Catholic portion of the Bathurst cemetery. The Rev. Father Connaughton officiated. The pall bearers were Messrs. E. McFadden, W. Mansell, A. Neil and G. Lea. The chief mourners were deceased sons, daughter, brother and sister. A large number of floral tributes were received.1
