Marriage*21 June 1910 Auburn Methodist Church, Hawthorn, VIC, Australia;
Sir Arthur Rutledge, Chief Justice of Queensland, was yesterday, quietly married to Miss Rose Davey, daughter of Mr. Davey, State school teacher, of Geelong. The ceremony, which took place in the Auburn Methodist Church, was performed by the Rev. Wm. Williams, assisted by the Rev. J. W. Crisp, in the presence of a few personal friends. The bridegroom was supported, by Mr. A. Davey, brother of the bride, as best man. The bride was simply dressed in an electric-blue travelling dress, and her 'sister, Miss Eva Davey, acted as bridesmaid. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. E. Davey, an inspector under the- Education, department. After the ceremony the guests adjourned to the parsonage adjoining,
where they sat down to the wedding breakfast. It is understood that Sir Arthur Rutledge first met his bride at a social gathering held in connection with a Methodist conference at Brisbane, when the latter was on a visit to the Northern State. Miss Davey is also well known in Methodist circles at Geelong, having been associated with the Yarra-street church for some years.
