WEDDINGS.
BOYLE—BREWER.
A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Casino, which was prettily decorated for the occasion by friends and relatives of the bride.
The contracting parties were Winnie Ellen, second daughter or Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Brewer, of Rappville, and Robert Andrew Gordon, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Boyle, of Boylston, Rev. R. D. McKinnon officiated.
The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, who subsequently gave her away. She wore a charming frock of ivory matalasse cut on classical lines, the skirt having panels let into back and front. The bodice was cut with a deep lace yoke, featuring a cowl neck line, held in place with a brilliant clasp, while the sleeves were pin-tucked and made tight-fitting to the elbow. She wore the usual wreath and veil, kindly lent by Mrs. W. Brewer, her sister-in-law. She carried a bouquet of rock lilies, stocks, freezias, and trails of may and orchid.
The bridesmaid, Miss Wanda Brewer, sister of the bride, wore shell pink fantasse, moulded to the figure and falling into a deep flare at the bottom. Godets of lace were introduced into the puff sleeves, while the neck-line was encircled with inlets of lace. She carried a bouquet of sweet peas, ranunculi and stocks, held with pink streamers.
Mr. Victor Boyle, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. During the signing of the register, Miss E. W. Brewer beautifully rendered "Because."
The bouquets were made and presented by Miss Ruth Honey, friend of the bride. The bridal party left the church to the strains of the Wedding March, with Mrs. Trevor Bevan presiding at the organ. The reception was held at the Masonic Hall, the tables being tastefully decorated. The three-tier wedding cake, which was the work of Mr. J. Collins, Rappville, took prominent place on the bride's table.
The bride's mother wore a frock of black crepe de chine, with black and white trimmings, with hat and shoes to match, and carried a bouquet of snapdragons and roses. With Mrs. Lloyd Reeves, who wore floral morocain and carried a bouquet of fuchsias and sweet peas, the bride's mother received the guests. The Rev. R. D. McKinnon presided at the breakfast where the usual toasts were honored.
The bride travelled in a frock of nigger brown diagonal colette, trimmed with mastic. It was worn with a fitting swagger coat of sandara, trimmed with accessories to tone. The bride's and the bridesmaids dresses were made by
Miss Ruth Honey. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a cut-glass bedroom clock, and to the bridesmaid a cut-glass powder bowl. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a travelling rug.
The happy couple, who were the recipients of many useful gifts, left for Brisbane, where the honeymoon was spent.
Prior to her wedding the bride was entertained at a kitchen tea at her parents' residence, when she received many useful presents. She was also entertained at an evening at Miss J. A. Cairns' residence by the Methodist Church Aid ladies, and presented with a beautiful rose bowl and also with a crystal cut-glass sandwich tray at a meeting of the Baptist Christian Endeavour Society, of which she was a member for several years.
Mr. and Mrs. Boyle's future home is at Boylston.
