A wedding was celebrated at St. George's Church Parkes, on January 5, between Lionel, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Bloomfield, of "Kingswood," Penrith, and Alice Sarah, youngest daughter of the late Mr. A. T. Medcalf and Mrs. Medcalf, of "Gillenbine," Trundle, the Rev. Seymour Smith officiating. The bride, given away by her brother, Mr. Arthur Medcalf, wore white pailette, arranged with a tunic and corsage of Brussels net and point lace The court train was lined with tiny net frills and finished with a horseshoe of true lovers' knots. An embroidered tulle veil over a chaplet of orange blossoms was also worn, and she carried an ivory-backed prayer book, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss May Pike, bridesmaid, wore embroidered Swiss voile and a mob cap, and carried an ivory-backed prayer book, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. E. Bloomfield, of Carcoar, acted as best man. A reception was held at the Exchange Hotel, Parkes, where Mrs. A. T. Medcalf received her guests. Later Mr .and Mrs. L. Bloomfield left by strain for the mountains and Sydney. The bride travelled in a frock of black and white crystaline, worn with a black and a white cap.
