News-Arct* | 22 February 1927 | "The Daily Advertiser", Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia; BISHOP-GALVIN. The wedding took place at Yerong on February 11 of Pearl, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Galvin, and Gordon, youngest son of Mrs. Bishop, of Albury, the Rev. H. Reiss officiating. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, and she was greeted with ''The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden" as she entered escorted by her father. She wore a bridal frock of cream crepe de chine with true lovers' knots worked in crystal and pearl beads, and she carried a bouquet of cream roses and ferns. Her bridal veil was held in position by a wreath of orange blossoms. The bridesmaid, Miss Bishop, a sister of the bridegroom, wore a dress of mauve crepe de chine and silver lace, and carried a bouquet of pink roses and ferns. Mr. Cyrii Galvin was best man. The bridal party left the church to the strains of Mendeilsshon's "Wedding March." played by Mrs. W. Hill, and passed from the church to the waiting car under an arch of greenery and between a guard of honor formed by the school children. This was arranged as a tribute to the bride for the interest she had always taken in school functions. At the wedding breakfast, which was held at the residence of the bride's parents, the Rev. H. Reiss presided, and the usual toasts were honored. The happy couple left by the afternoon train for Sydney for their honeymoon. The bride's travelling dress was of cinnamon crepe de chine with hat to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Bishop received many presents, including cheques. Their future home will be at Albury. ;Principal=Pearl E Galvin4 |
