News-Arct* | 28 June 1940 | "The Gloucester Advocate", Gloucester, NSW, Australia; Wedding BEUZEVILLE— DEARDS. On Saturday 15th June, St. Andrews' Presbyterian Church, Gloucester, was tastefully decorated by friends for the marriage of Joan Percia, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Deards, and Leslie Marshall, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Beuzeville, of 'Nellie Vale,' Trundle. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father wore a trained gown of ivory chantilly lace over white satin, fashioned on classical lines. With her coronet of lily of the valley, she wore a Brussels lace veil, kindly lent for the occasion by her aunt, Mrs. Middleton, of Atarmon. Her bouquet of tuberoses, stocks and camellias was the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid, Miss Pat Deards, who attended her sister, wore white mariette over taffeta, with stiffened rucking hemline. Her tulle veil was held by a floral topknot, and she carried a bouquet of carnations and roses. Little Jan McLeod, who was also in attendance was the sweetest of flower girls in a frilled snow white frock of mariette with tulle halo bonnet fastened with crimson velvet streamers. She carried a basket of red roses. Mr. Chas. Yates, uncle of the bride, carried out the duties of best man. Rev. D. Glyn Jones was the officiating clergyman and Mrs. McGregor presided at the organ. To her accompaniment Mr. Doug. Yates sang, "O, Perfect Love" during the signing of the register. After the ceremony a reception was held at the School of Arts, where the parents entertained relatives and friends. Mrs. Deards wore a vintage wool ensemble with matching hat, and shoulder spray of carnations and heliotrope. A feature of the reception was the three-tired cake made and decorated by the bride's mother. When leaving by car for the honeymoon the bride wore a tucked gown of blue, with matching accessories. With her tailored coat she wore a Canadian fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. Bouquets were by Beatrice Stewart, of King Street. ;Principal=Joan Percia Deards2 |
