Will*19 April 1762 Madron, Cornwall;In the name of God Amen. The Nineteenth day of Aprill 1762. I William Bassett of the Parish of Maddren in the County of Cornwall, Cordwinder, Being Weak in Body But of perfect mind and memory Thanks be to Almighty God. Therefore calling unto mind the Mortality of my body And knowing that it is appointed for all men to Die Do Make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to Say, Principally and first of all I give and recomment my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave it, And my Body I Recommend to Earth from Whence it was takento be buried in a Decent Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executrix, Whome I Shall herafter name, Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall Receive the Same again by the Mighty power of God, and as touching such Worldly Good where with it hath Pleased almighty God to bless me in this life with I Give, Demise and Dispose of same in the following manner and form:

Imp.s(?) I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Will'm Bassett one Shilling British mony Payable at the End of Twelve months after my Discease -

Itim, I give and Bequeath unto my well Beloved Son James the like Sume - Payable the Same time. -

Itim, I give and bequeath unto my well bloved Sons John and Nicholas my wearing apparel equally to be Divided betwixt them

More I will that my beloved Son Nichollas may be brought to the Trade if he excepts of the Same, Sooner by his Brothers' than any other body if they can agree with my Executrix - Otherwise as Shee thinks propper,

Itim, I give and bequeath unto my well beloved Daughter Hanna One Pound One Shilling Payable her Wedden day if Demanded. And One Puter Dish and Plate the Same time

Itim I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Margery Bassett, whom I likewise Constitute make and Ordaine my Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament all and singular my Good and Chattles with all Cash and Writings * by her to be Possessed of and enjoyed after paying my funeral Charges and Other Debts and Legasies before Mentioned, But if my said Wife do marry it is all to fall to the said John and Nicholas Equally to be divided betwixt them, and I do hereby utterly Disa(-?) and Revoke all and every other former Will and Testament by me before named Ratifying and Confirming this to be my last Will and Testament, In Wittness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal the Day and Year first Written
