WEDDING
BREWER—THOMAS
A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Methodist Church, Casino, yesterday (May 28), when Ina Chapman, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Thomas (Shannonbrook), was united in wedlock to Ernest William, eldest son. of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Brewer (Rappville). Rev. F. J. Johnston was the officiating clergyman. The church, which had been beautifully decorated, was well filled with friends of the contracting parties.
Attired in a dainty dress of ivory crepe de chene and silver lace, with diamante trimmings, the bride entered the church on the arm of her father (who subsequently gave her away), to the strains of Wagner's "Bridal March," played on the organ by Mrs. P. C. Beer. The bride's costume was completed with the customary veil (lent for the occasion by Mrs. Stan Thomas), and clusters of orange blossoms which had been worn by the bride's mother. Miss Edna Thomas (sister), attended the bride, her frock being shell pink crepe de chene, with silver lace trimmings, the head-dress consisting of a wreath of silver leaves. The bride's bouquet was white roses, arum lillies and maidenhair, with tulle streamers. The bouquets were the work of Mrs. Whalley. Mr. Wilfred Brewer, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man.
During the signing of the register Mr. Stan Thomas sang "Because," and the Wedding March was played as the bridal party left the church.
The bride's present to the bride groom was a pearl scarf pin. The bridegroom presented to the bride a champagne kid handbag, and to the bridesmaid a crystal necklace.
The reception and wedding breakfast were held at Wright's Cafe, where the bride's mother received the guests in a dress of black crepe de chene with coffee-colored trimmings and hat to match, and carrying a posey of violets. The bridegroom 's mother was attired in black crepe de chene, with hat to tone, and carried a posey of violets. The Rev. Johnston presided, and the customary toasts were honored.
The bride 's going-away costume was of bois-de-rose crepe de chene, hat ensuite. The newly-married couple left by motor car for their honeymoon, which is being spent in Queensland.
Many valuable gift's were received, also a number of cheques.
Mr. and Mrs. Brewer's future home will be at Rappville.
