I John Bassett of the town of Penzance in the County of Cornwall mason being Sick and weake in body but of sound and Perfect mind Memory and Understanding thanks be to God for the Same, knowing the Uncertainty of life and the Certenty of Death and to prevente any Disputes about what I may Leave at the time of my Death whensoever it shall please God to call me, Do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say Princeabbly I bequeath my Soul unto the hand of allmighty God my Creator and my body to the Earth to be Desently buried.
Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my wellbeloved wife my house and garden my household goods and all other things of what kind soever that I am any ways Entitled to with a full power to sell and dispose thereof for her own suport if wanted but not to sell nor dispose of any for the use of any other person Except her own Cloathes which she may give to whom she please if any thing remaines at her death it shall belong to my Son Francis Bassett. In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of March in ye year of our Lord 1774
